Over the past two years, I have drastically changed my advising and supervising style so that is more encompassing of this parallel between intellectual and emotional issues. It clearly demonstrates how I have used a holistic approach to inform my practice.

Learning outcome two, understanding students and student issues is addressed here. In this paper, I recognize and acknowledge how my first-generation identity is different than another's because I have many other privileges that have afforded me the opportunity to be where I am now. This is important in understanding how to work with more diverse populations on a large-ranging scale of privilege.
