My contribution to a project-based internship helped me develop a new set of skills and made me feel valued as a new professional with mindful ideas of which functional areas work for me and which do not. In navigating my role there, it was important for me to implement my own ideas and structure those ideas with a solid plan of resources for the curriculum. I asked a lot of questioned and was validated in how I found answers.

By serving a specific purpose in the TRIO office, I was able to develop and demonstrate skills in leadership and collaboration. It was not a relational role in nature because the research and development was meant for individual dedication, but it challenged me to work alone and then intentionally consider the impact of framework.
