This entry contains...
NASPA (Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education) and ACPA (American College Personnel Association) are the two largest national associations of the field. The areas of competency were created by the associations, and they are: advising and helping; assessment, evaluation, and research; equity, diversity, and inclusion; ethical professional practice; history, philosophy, and values; human and organizational resources; law, policy, and governance; leadership; personal foundations; and, student learning and development. It was due for a first review in November, and then I made significant revisions and added content before it was submitted again in December.
